PE (polyethylene) Cling Film The main component of PE Cling Film is polyethylene resin, which is mainly used for the packaging of ordinary fruits and vegetables. PE Cling Film is considered a safe packaging material for direct contact food. PE Cling Film has good waterproof and breathable properties and is suitable for packaging fresh vegetables, frozen food, etc. However, due to its good air permeability, it is not suitable for packaging high-fat foods that are easily destroyed by oxygen.
PVC (polyvinyl chloride) cling film
PVC is a polymer compound formed by addition polymerization of vinyl chloride monomer. It has the characteristics of good transparency, high viscosity, good elasticity and not easy to break, but these characteristics are based on its huge harm to people. The monomer vinyl chloride of PVC has anesthesia effect, and also has teratogenic and carcinogenic properties. Long-term exposure will cause damage to the human nervous system, liver, embryo, etc. The safety limit for human body is 1 mg/kg body weight. At the same time, the thermal stability of PVC Cling Film is poor, and heating or microwave treatment will cause it to crack to produce toxic vinyl chloride. In addition, in order to make the PVC material into a soft and transparent cling film, it is inevitable to add plasticizers to change its properties during manufacture. Some PVC Cling Films may contain ethylhexylamine (DEHA) as a plasticizer, which can damage the human endocrine system, is carcinogenic, and is easily precipitated from packaging materials and enters the human body with food. Therefore, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine requires that food cling film manufacturers must indicate the material and scope of application on the product packaging, prohibit the use of DEHA in the production of PVC cling film, and prohibit the direct use of PVC cling film to package meat, cooked food and oily food.
PVDC (polyvinylidene chloride) plastic wrap
PVDC plastic wrap is composed of polyvinylidene chloride and a small amount of plasticizers, stabilizers and other additives. It is mainly used for the packaging of some cooked food, ham and other products. It has the characteristics of good freshness, strong and easy to attach, and can prevent water evaporation. It is superior to PVC plastic wrap in terms of heat resistance and safety. PVDC plastic wrap can be used for both refrigerator preservation and microwave heating, and its operating temperature range can reach -60℃~140℃.
